Greco di Tufo, aka Greco Bianco, is an ancient variety also credited to Greek colonists. It was a favorite of the Romans as it was lauded by their poet Pliny the Elder. It is a white DOCG wine from Campania but it is also found in other southern Italian regions. It can be very similar to viognier with pear and honeysuckle notes when young. It ages surprisinf=gly well and develops a broader palate and an herbal tone replaces the fruit notes.
